TecBears PETG - Durable filament with excellent transparency

Professional PETG filament that combines the ease of printing of PLA with the durability and resistance of ABS. Versatile material ideal for functional components, mechanical parts and outdoor applications thanks to its excellent chemical resistance and atmospheric agents.

Technical specifications

  • Diameter: 1.75 mm
  • Spool weight: 1 kg
  • Extrusion temperature: 210-235°C
  • Bed temperature: 50-80°C
  • Material: PETG (Modified Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol)

Mechanical and chemical properties

  • Excellent impact resistance: Superior hardness and toughness for parts subjected to stress
  • Chemical resistance: Stable in acidic and alkaline environments
  • Resistance to atmospheric agents: Ideal for outdoor applications and UV exposure
  • Excellent interlayer adhesion: Improves resistance and shock absorption of the prototype
  • High waterproofness: Excellent choice for containers and liquid contact applications

Visual features

  • High transparency: Durable material with excellent optical clarity
  • High light transmission: Perfect for transparent and protective covers
  • Glossy finish: Glossy and professional surface
  • Bright colors: Uniform and lively pigmentation

Advantages PETG vs other materials

Compared to PLA:

  • Greater mechanical resistance and flexibility
  • Better thermal resistance (does not deform at high temperatures)
  • Resistant to humidity and chemicals
  • Superior durability over time

Compared to ABS:

  • Easy printing without excessive warping
  • No emissions of harmful fumes
  • Does not require a closed heated chamber
  • Less odor when printing

Ideal applications

  • Mechanical components: Brackets, supports, joints and functional parts under stress
  • Containers and packaging: Safe for food contact (check specific certifications)
  • Outdoor applications: Resistant to UV, rain and variable temperatures
  • Protective devices: Transparent covers, screens, protections
  • Medical sector: Orthopedic and prosthetic devices (biocompatible material)
  • Functional prototypes: Mechanical tests and design validation
  • Transparent parts: Windows, diffuser lenses, viewers

Printing tips

  • Nozzle temperature: Start at 220°C and adjust based on flow and quality
  • Bed temperature: 60-70°C for optimal adhesion
  • Ventilation: Minimum or deactivated to avoid deformations
  • Speed: Moderate (40-60 mm/s) for best quality
  • Retraction: Adjust carefully to avoid stringing (PETG tends to string)
  • First layer: Slightly slower to ensure adhesion

Storage and maintenance

  • Store in a dry environment (PETG is hygroscopic)
  • Use vacuum bags with desiccant after opening
  • If the filament has absorbed moisture, dry at 60-65°C for 4-6 hours
  • Humidity symptoms: superficial bubbles, excessive stringing, popping noises

Safety and environment

  • Non-toxic during printing (low emissions)
  • Recyclable (recycling code 1 - PET)
  • Suitable for home and office environments
  • Compatible with food packaging (check certifications)

Compatibility

  • All FDM/FFF printers with 1.75mm nozzle
  • Heated bed recommended (not essential with correct adhesion)
  • Direct drive or bowden extruder

TecBears PETG: The ideal choice for those looking for the perfect combination of ease of printing and superior mechanical performance. Versatile material for professional and hobby applications that require strength, durability and transparency.
